Hello Design Justice Network - Toronto folks!

Our next meeting will be:

Meeting Goals

Our group has recently been invited by OPIRG Toronto to participate in an exciting event/exhibit on Friday August 16 focused on activism and community organizing (https://www.facebook.com/events/631309594018185/). One of the goals of our meeting on July 30th will be to discuss the logistics of our participation. OPIRG Toronto has asked if we would like to run a screen printing table at the event and we are also welcome to do outreach and bring Design Justice materials to share with participants. At our meeting, we can discuss who might be able to volunteer at/attend the event on behalf of Design Justice Network – Toronto.

Past Meetings

Last month the Design Justice Network - Toronto group met to discuss communications among the group as well as ideas for making the group sustainable. As part of our conversation, we hope to soon move some of our conversations onto Slack to allow for more seamless communication. Invites to join the Slack group will be shared soon!

At our June meeting we also agreed to create a database of member skills/expertise. This would be helpful for future collaborations with potential partners, and to allow members to seek support from fellow members with complementary skills/expertise. In the near future, we will invite you to voluntarily submit your skills and background if you feel comfortable.
