For our DJN Seattle/PNW node meet-up tonight, Thursday, November 18, at 5:30 PM PT (sign-up here for Zoom link), we are launching right into our collective reading of Design Justice: Community-Led Practices to Build the Worlds We Need by Sasha Costanza-Chock. Completion of readings is not required for participation.

Today we'll be discussing the Introduction (pp 1-30).

Future sections/meeting dates:

  • December 16, 5:30pm PST (Design Values, Design Practices)

  • January 20, 5:30pm PST (Design Narratives, Design Sites)

  • February 17, 5:30pm PST (Design Pedagogies, Directions for Future Work)

The book is available for purchase and free download. You can also purchase copies from Independent bookstores, BookShop, or other mainstream online booksellers. The audiobook is available at Hoopla, Audible, and other online digital bookstores such as those offered by Apple and Google. For free download you can go to Unglue.it, or straight to MIT Press.

Are you interested in spurring another DJN Seattle/PNW activity? Let us know! There are a few volunteers available to help coordinate - and this group is whatever you want it to be - so please continue to share and run with your ideas, and/or seed via our Seattle Node Slack. Thank you for being part of this community!
