The Design Justice London Node is officially launching our regular monthly meet-ups called Collective Care Circle (Learning Community), and our first meet-up will take place online.
Collective Care events will be monthly meet-ups where one person shares their ‘live’ questions or challenges they’re experiencing in work or projects. We will have a community of people feeding into discussions and answering questions. (for further reference: https://designjustice.org/djn-care-circle).
It isn’t a formal presentation but rather an informal space where we can meet and support one another with DJ principles.
We plan to alternate each month to be online and in-person - e.g. April online, May in-person, June online, etc.
Soh-yon will kick off what we hope is the first of many collective care events for April. She will bring challenges she has experienced in designing and researching healthcare systems, specifically the NHS and community groups.
About Soh-yon:
Soh-yon (she/her) is a Design Researcher at Imperial College London and the NHS, working on equity and community-centred healthcare design projects, such as improving access and outcomes to breast cancer care and screening with South Asian communities in London. She is interested in bringing equity and strategic participatory work into healthcare, ensuring we don't leave people behind from the main narrative of care.
