Nodes are a key part of a thriving network.
Just as in botany, where a node is part of a plant stem where new leaves emerge, a local node within the DJN is a space for members to gather locally. DJN local nodes and members are accountable to the communities they serve, through organizing work that reflects the design justice network principles.
A local node within the Design Justice Network is a space for local members to gather and grow design justice related projects, ideas, processes, and community.
You can find more information our existing Local Nodes and how to start one here.
This zine was collectively written and edited by members of the Design Justice Network (DJN). It provides organizing tips and resources to help current or aspiring DJN members create and grow local Design Justice Network nodes.

Dear DJN Members, Signatories and Subscribers, Denise Shanté Brown, Jody Chan and Corina Fadel close their time as collaborators for the Design Justice Network Care Pod by sharing their multi-sensory narrative report, which curates the past two years through visually and aurally textured, nonlinear storytelling design. Explore the report on Design Justice Network’s News page and on the Care Pod’s Aren.a channel as a downloadable design deck and plain-text PDF.
